St. Florence Academy
is a private English medium School which was founded in
1993 as a Nursery School and later on in 1997, the school
began offering Primary School Education (Standard I to
Standard VII) as well.
St. Florence is established as
a modern high quality and standard institution which takes
pride in providing applicable academic and physical education.
The School is officially registered,
with Registration Number DS. 02/7/E.A005
for Nursery School and Registration Number DS.02/7/005
for Primary school. It was established by Mrs. Flora D.
Assey the owner , who is also the school director.
It is a private (non-Governmental Institution), with 450
Registered pupils to date, with 200 of them being boys
and 250 girls.
The School provides boarding facilities for Std. VII and
a few interested students from other classes, it is entirely
funded through school fees and no other external funds.

in permanent premises located at Mikocheni “A’ along
Garden Road, Tembo Avenue, Plot No 622.
It is 2 Kilometers away from Ali Hassan Mwinyi Road
if taking a junction near the building of commission
of Science and Technology and 2 Kilometers from
Old Bagamoyo Road. |

Curriculum:
The school follows the Tanzanian National Curriculum with
its progressive development of skills. Where appropriate
the content is re focused on other widely accepted syllabuses,
internationally. St Florence believes that children’s
learning involves experiment, investigation and practical
involvement, not just theory and drill.
Classes:
Classes are kept small so that the teacher is able to
monitor students progress with care. They begin at 8 am
and end at 3.15pm. Lunch and tea are provided at school.
All meals are well balanced. The school is regularly inspected
by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Uniforms:
Uniforms are provided by the school at an affordable cost.
Library:
The school has a well stocked library with almost all
required books; however, the school is continuing to review
the needs and requirements for necessary addition of stock.
Computer Studies:
Pupils from grade one to seven study computer as a compulsory
subject.
Environment:
The school has a remarkable wonderful environment with
cool fresh air. The kind of environment which is conductive
to learning.
Transport:
The school offers reliable transport services though this
is optional. Children are picked up at their nearest Bus
stops.
Books:
The school provides writing materials. We advise the parents
to buy text books for their children.
